7 MATERIAL GUIDE Paper recycling helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, it takes 70% less energy and water to recycle paper than to create new paper products from trees. It also heavily reduces the amount of space taken up by waste paper in landfill. By choosing a product made from recycled paper you will be helping forest conservation - far less trees are needed when paper is reused. RECYCLED PAPER & CARD Organic cotton is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides which can be harmful to wildlife, with organic farming creating healthy, water retaining soil with much less water needed to help the crop grow. ORGANIC COTTON Recycled PU (Polyurethane) is an environmentally friendly material with a low environmental impact due to its great durability and low melting point. The material is created by breaking down used PU products and turning them in to new products, in our case, notebook covers. The recycling of PU helps to reduce waste to landfill, helping the environmental impact of conventional polyurethane production. RECYCLED PU (R-PU) Bamboo is an earth-friendly solution for high demand products as it can grow up to 3ft per day with very little water and without chemicals. It is also 100% biodegradable and extremely durable. BAMBOO Recycled cotton fabric uses pre & post-consumer waste of virgin cotton products to reduce the negative impact of traditional cotton farming, in turn reducing water consumption, CO2 emissions and decreases the amount of textile waste that reaches landfill, providing it with a new life. RECYCLED COTTON Recycled ABS, Recycled PP, Recycled TPE, Recycled PS and Recycled PE are all plastics that have been melted down from post-consumer waste such as keyboards, children’s toys, food packaging, housewares and appliances. They are then given a new life as travel mugs, sports bottles, writing instruments, trolley coins, ice scrapers and more. OTHER RECYCLED PLASTICS
